Smart Boys & Fast Girls

Title: Smart boys & Fast girls

Author: Stephie Davis

Pages: 178
YA

Basic Rating: 3/5

Story: 3/5

Characters: 3/5

Cover: 2/5 (OK but i don't get it)

My Recommendation: To those who like quicker reads and Young Adult books

My Thoughts: I really liked it, it was very cute. It is a good quicker beach read of a 178 pages. The story is being told by the character Natalie Page, I think Natalie is a cool character, she is a super jock trying to get ahead but also really down to earth and sometimes very confused. She is just having some problems like any normal or not so normal teenage girl. She can't live up to the expectations of her parents, she feels like she is loosing her best friends, every boy looks at her like a boy and buddy, she's failing math, and might loose her chance at being apart of her running team - which is her whole life. Matt (another character) is super annoyingly-funny-cute and is a great character in the book. Some of the book has been done before, but i enjoyed and loved reading it.

Plot: Natalie Page has had enough, she is sick of her friend bailing on her, sick of all the boys loving her as a buddy and pale, sick of being alone when all her friend are together and with their boyfriends. Natalie makes the varsity cross country team and suddenly every one needs her, and that's also when suddenly she needs a tutor. Her grades are going down so fast that before she's even in on the team she is threatened to be out. So many things are crashing down on her, she needs to start to be taken seriously as girl and a good runner. She gets a tutor, he's so annoying and to make things worse he hates jocks. Sure hes kinda cute but he thinks she's stupid. So why did she tell her parents she was dating him? Can Natalie get her grades up? Its her last chance.

Title: The book of Luke
Author: Jenny O'connell
Pages: 291
YA
Plot: Emily Abbott has always been considered the Girl Most Likely to Be Nice -- but lately being nice hasn't done her any good. Her parents have decided to move the family from Chicago back to their hometown of Boston in the middle of Emily's senior year. Only Emily's first real boyfriend, Sean, is in Chicago, and so is her shot at class valedictorian and early admission to the Ivy League. What's a nice girl to do?
Then Sean dumps Emily on moving day and her father announces he's staying behind in Chicago "to tie up loose ends," and Emily decides that what a nice girl needs to do is to stop being nice.
She reconnects with her best friends in Boston, Josie and Lucy, only to discover that they too have been on the receiving end of some glaring Guy Don'ts. So when the girls have to come up with something to put in the senior class time capsule, they know exactly what to do. They'll create a not-so-nice reference guide for future generations of guys -- an instruction book that teaches them the right way to treat girls.
But when her friends draft Emily to test out their tips on Luke Preston -- the hottest, most popular guy in school, who just broke up with Josie by email -- Emily soon finds that Luke is the trickiest of test subjects . . . and that even a nice girl like Emily has a few things to learn about love.

Title: Boy Crazy
Author: Haily Abbott
Pages: 228
YA
Plot: How to Date Like a Guy:
1. Flirt constantly.
2. Keep your options open.
3. Don't get attached.
Cassie and her two best friends, Greta and Keagan, are so over boyfriends. But just because the girls are anti-boyfriend doesn't mean they're anti-boy. So they make a pact for the summer: They'll each kiss ten different guys before school starts—no commitments, no drama, just fun. Sounds easy enough. Then Cassie meets the perfect guy (nine boys too soon), and the pact starts to seem like a terrible idea. Not to mention Boy Number One turns out to be her best friend's ex. Ugh—Cassie's summer just went from carefree to complicated faster than she can say "heartbreaker."

Kate figures that the only way things will ever stop hurting so much is if she keeps to herself and stops caring about anyone or anything. What she doesn't realize is that while life may not always be perfect, good things can happen -- but only if she lets them....

Beastly

Title: Beastly
Author: Alex Flinn
Pages: 300
Fantasy YA

Basic Rating: 4/5

Plot: 3/5 and a half

Characters: 4/5

Cover: I really liked the cover so: 3/5 and a half

My Thoughts: I am so sad that i am done with this book, but i suppose that i a good thing. I really really loved this book and i am so glad that so far i am in a streak where i really like the books that i am reading. I loved really everything about it, i liked the story line, the people, and how it was written. I loved how it was a retelling of Beauty and the Beast, i always loved the story when i was little. It had magic in it of course because that's what fairy tales and most fantasy genres have in it, but i was glad it really wasn't in the story to much, that i can't handle. It is dramatic, sweet, and funny, i laughed a lot. I thought it was funny how he goes back and forth talking about different book like the phantom ( glad he isn't a phantom lover!) and more funnily Pride and Prejudice. Loved it! I loved all the characters, I really loved Kyle and how he changes, I'd say the perfect guy even in beast form, and i loved all the strong characters like Will, Kendra, Magda, and Lindy, and i also loved all the flawed characters like Sloane, Mr. Kingsburry, Lindy's dad, and Trey. I don't normally say this but i thought the book had a really good moral, to look at the beautiful things all around you and to not let it just pass by and also not to judge someone one from their looks but judge them because of their person on the inside. And last but surely not least, I really liked the cover, at first i didn't really understand it but after reading it i really appreciate it.

And so to close my thought i can't wait until July next year, super pumped for the movie. Though i might have to read it again just before that.

Plot: Kyle Kingsburry is rich, has the best of looks, and goes to one of the most preppy high schools in New York City. But one thing he isn't is pretty on the inside, he is a beast on the inside where it counts and that's what gets him into a bad situation. A witch in his English class did put a curse on him, but can that curse turn out to be a good thing? He has two years to live as a beast before it is permanent, and the only way to turn it around is for him to find true love. Its sounds easier than it really is, can he do it? Its not like beasts walk around in plain sight in New York or anywhere else for that matter.

Its no medieval fairy tale but can this beast have a happy ending?

Avatar

I can put Avatar in one word, Amazing. Me and My family went to see it yesterday and i could not believe how much i loved it. I really did want to see it since i first saw the trailer a while ago but i didn't expect it to really blow me away. The Picture is so clear and the HD is so cool and wonderful. The movie is a big deal, its going to be one of those forever classics. The movie is on the longer side but as i heard said before you didn't realize the length of it, it really did just fly away. I haven't heard anything bad yet about it and i won't say anything bad about it today. I really loved it, and i think its for everyone to see, it has action, adventure, and a little romance "sprinkled" into it.
Thanks BOstan~

Random Trailers

I just felt like putting a fair amount of trailers in this post, there pretty much a lot of just random groups of movies. Some of them i have just seen the trailers for them recently and they looked good. Well here they are-

Loving adorable animals all over the world~

Yesterday

So exciting, yesterday at around 3 pm, my sister gave birth to a little boy!!! So now in my family we have three nephews. So excited!!! I don't think new Born's are adorable or cute at first at all, but once they get some character and older they get cuter. Because to me at first they just don't at all look cute, so i don't say they are until they really become cute.

Alice's Adventures in Wonderland

Title: Alice's Adventures in Wonderland
Author: Lewis Carroll
Pages: 141
Children's

Basic Rating: 5/5

Plot: 5/5

Characters: 4/5 and a half.

Cover: (Puffin Classics ) 4/5

Recommendation: To children and people who love adventure and timeless story's

My Thoughts: Well as a really little child i never got to read this book (but i did get to see the movie and be in a school play of it) so when i found out that a new movie version of Alice in wonderland was coming out i really wanted to read the book to refresh my memory. I loved this book, it is truly one of the best children's book ever, full of wonderment and imagination. I always loved to watch the old Disney version and in comparison it is a lot the same and a lot the different. I loved the plot line, Alice goes on an adventure first off to find the white rabbit but also she meets many other characters along the way and has many other adventures. I really loved the characters, Alice is such a cool little girl i think, she is very smart for her small age and is like many other noisy young girls who ask so many questions. I can't mention them all but some of the characters that i loved were, the nervous White Rabbit, the caterpillar (in the movie i always was a bit scared of him but i loved him anyway), The Duchess and her baby, The Cheshire Cat (always loved him), The Mad hatter, and everyone else. I loved the Cover art for this particular book, the drawing is great and i love the colour choices, the yellow and the blue really make it pop! And last but not least i really got into the conversations, the way the characters talk and act silly is just great.

Lewis Carroll has truly made Wonderland.

Plot: One Day on a summer's Afternoon, little Alice stumbled onto a Rabbit hole, curious as always she falls right into Wonderland. Were everything and nothing is as it seems, bottles make you shrink and cake makes you grow, animals can talk, cats can vanish in mid air, and everyone is simply mad. Lost but trying to find the White Rabbit, Alice stumbles into many different things and places and she goes on an adventure of madness and in Wonderland anything can happen.

Thanks for reading, BOstan~

LOL

My sister found this on YouTube and i think it is so cute and funny, he is so good for his age and so cute and he can hardly talk. I just wanted to share it, I'M YOURS really made me laugh, his face expressions are priceless!

Change

I just changed my blog lay out and colour, i just felt like blue. I loved the white because it felt clean and clear but blue right now is what i love. Its winter and since i don't have any snow here, it gives me a little snipped of winter. And probably I'll be changing it again in a few months, i always do.

I thought these quotes were a little goofy and the reason being Lewis C. wrote them.

Did Anyone Hear?

Did You Hear?
I couldn't believe it, she's Dead. Wow its crazy and she was only 32 years old, its really sad to think about. Sort of like Heath L. he was also so young. There have been a lot of people famous dying this year. I still can't believe it, but its true and sad.

Love At First Click

Title: Love at first Click
Author: Elizabeth Chandler
Pages: 185
YA
Basic Rating: 4/5
Plot: 4/5
Characters: 4/5
Cover: I really like the cover, i think its sweet and photography.

My Thoughts: Well let me say that i really loved this book. It was easy to read and so much fun to read, i don't mind reading it over and over again. It is short and that is the only thing that i am not so happy with but i loved it none the less. It is a Love-ish story Young Adult book, but it is comical too. I had both chicken skin and lots of laughing out loud. I love how Elizabeth Chandler wrote it and i love her style of writing. The dialogue was very good, and she through in a lot of funny lines. I really liked the plot, i am not into some YA books because of maybe the main character or because of the love triangle or the love interest or the corny way they fall for each other, but i really thought this was thought out well. It wasn't so hard to guess what was going to happen, but i was totally surprised by what happened at the end and some secrets in the book. Also it was a clean book and i really like that, i hate when their is a lot of swearing in it and a lot of sexual senses and if i might say so, this book was very cool to not have it in it. And last but not least i really like the characters they were real and believable and i think people like that, and also i think i can relate to the main character Hayley and her situation. She is not really the popular one, but her sister is and all the guys go for her. I know how it feels, and i guess the book gave me a little hope. :)

Plot: Theirs no denying it, she colors ever time she sees him. Theirs something about Flynn that drives Hayley crazy, and as she finds out its not only because he's beautiful on the outside but because he's sort of beautiful on the inside too. Well since she is the photographer of the school news paper theirs always time for plenty of close ups, and though he's cute she's not in love, its just a little thing she calls a "camera crush". Everything's just fine to stay the ways it has always been, but when he starts taking an interest in her sister, things go way to far, and the more she learns about him and the more easier it feels to talk to him shes in danger of falling for her sisters boyfriend.

Alex Rider: Crocodile Tears

Title: Alex Rider Crocodile Tears
Author: Anthony Horowitz
Pages: 385
YA

Basic Rating: 4/5

Plot: 4/5

Characters: 4/5

Cover: 4/5 (my copy is Hard cover and even with out the sleeve i love the black cover with blue wording on the side)

My Thoughts: Well generally i have really high expectations of these books of Alex Rider by Anthony H. and again i have been happy and more than satisfied with the out come. I simply loved this book, great competition to my favorite, Snakehead. From the beginning the story has been action packed and as always i love how Anthony writes his story's, they are words of colourful descriptions and colourful characters. Alex and the rest of the returning characters were wonderful as always, and the new character were also brilliantly made even if they were not so brilliant themselves. Well i only wish the book went on forever and i really can't wait for the next couple books of the series and the next books of Anthony Horowitz's.

Plot: Alex is having so much fun just relaxing and hanging out with Sabina Pleasure and her parents, they have just a few more days in Scotland till they leave but that's OK he plans to enjoy them. For the past Year he has been used by the special forces of MI6, he has traveled the world though under not to pleasant circumstances, he has been shot at and shot, and so many other things that a teenager his age should not have to deal with. But since now he is letting himself realize that maybe he is done with all that and maybe MI6 is done with him, i mean they didn't even send a card. That is until things start happening, and maybe having a perfect normal life is harder to attain than he had once thought. This time Alex needs the help of MI6 and conveniently they have a small job for him that turns out to be bigger than any one lead him to think. And it just might be that its not exactly MI6's fault this time and it might be that Alex just has a way of drawing in trouble. On a flight to Africa this is his biggest mission yet!
