Fantasy/Children

I have been really wanting to read Peter Pan for a while now and lately i have been interested in legends and Fairy tales. Nowadays most Children's books are not the same to what they used to be. And i like the fact (or i like to think) that you don't always have to grow out of Fairy tales. Peter Pan was such a delightful book, and compared to most of today's children's books it is so much better. It is such a fairy tale and while i was reading i noticed that their are quite a few of big words for children. I liked that, reading is a good way to help with vocabulary (young and old). And Barrie has completely made his story come to life; with the characters, the idea, the writing, and the fun little things in the book. The only thing that i have always felt sad about is the ending when Wendy grows up. I never loved that part, but i don't think i will ever get over that. I loved the book and i want to read it to my nephews.

Plot: Wendy Darling is a little girl, a normal girl. She lives in London with her mother, her father, brothers, and dog Nana. She tells wonderful story's and each one of the Darling children have their own Neverland in their imaginations. Life is wonderful and peaceful until a strange little boy shows up. He lures the Darling children out of the window and off to Neverland. Peter Pan is a little boy who ran away when he was very small and lives with the fairies and the Lost boys in Neverland. Together the adventure starts... Life as a child in Neverland is play all day, but the dangers never stay away. And the evil pirate Captain Hook is determined to have Peter at the end of his claw....

"Some like Peter best, and some like Wendy best, but i like her best. Suppose, to make her happy, we whisper to her in her sleep that the brats are coming back."

"There could not have been a lovelier sight, but there was none to see it except a little boy who was staring in at the window. He had ecstasies innumerable that other children can never know; but he was looking through the window at the one joy from which he must be forever barred."
